Buckingham Friends School, an independent Quaker school founded in 1794 and one
of the 12 oldest continuously operating schools in the United States. The school
welcomes students of any race, color, faith, national or ethnic origin and works
to instill values that guide students in caring for the people and resources of
the world. The school is guided by the Quaker values of community, equality,
service, simplicity, integrity, stewardship, and peace.
Buckingham Friends School students express their global commitment by
participating in the school’s international Joint Environmental Mission (JEM)
and a variety of service projects and fund-raising efforts throughout the year.
These projects are conceived of, planned and carried out with the help of the
JEM and Outreach student committees. Through these efforts, the school community
has been able to forge lifelong, collaborative international relationships and
provide much needed goods and services to schools and communities around the
world.
Buckingham Friends School is 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donations to
the school are tax-deductible as permitted by law. For more information about

Although this is a nonsectarian event, we are guided by Quaker principles of peace, equality, social justice, and stewardship of the environment. Members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) are known for our opposition to all kinds of violence, including warfare. We believe in working hard to prevent the causes of violence, at local, national, and international levels.
